Medical Needs: Living with Assistance
Fitch Home offers assistance with medications as part of the monthly board fee. Medications are
dispensed by our nursing staff from 7:00 A.M. until 11:00 P.M. daily. Our nurses are on duty to
assist with medications, eye treatments and other wellness needs.
There are always two staff members available to provide assistance 24/7. Our nurses can administer
medications as ordered by your doctor and will help with the ordering of your medicines in a timely
manner at your local pharmacy or a mail in plan.
Assistance with personal care is available daily. This includes help with bathing, dressing, and
bed making and changing at an hourly fee of $22.00.
Our medical director is available to provide consultation as needed should you choose to retain him
as your primary physician. His nurse practitioner visits monthly providing a wellness clinic in house.
You may retain your own doctor. Our medical director is available in an emergency. A local lab visits
as needed for lab tests that your doctor orders, i.e. blood tests, etc.
Fitch Home is located minutes from Melrose Wakefield Hospital. Melrose offers a diverse medical community
that can meet most of your needs.
A registered dietitian visits Fitch Home every three months. She consults with our residents to discuss
and answer questions regarding their dietary health and medication interactions, consulting with the
primary physician as needed. This service is one of many that are included in the monthly boarding fee.
Fitch Home is not a nursing facility. We are licensed by the Dept. of Public Health to provide a rest home
for individuals 65 years of age and older. We choose to provide licensed nurses as part of our staff thereby
enhancing the care and services available to all who choose to live the good life at Fitch Home.
